Adventure Learning Schools

We were approached by Adventure Learning Schools to create a house style and identity for the Charity.  The organisation is a Cumbrian-based charity which promotes high quality adventure-based teaching and learning in Primary and Secondary Schools.

Our solution involved creating a very distinctive 'butterfly' image with supporting typography. We felt that this imagery gave an outdoor feel which was appropriate for Adventure Learning Schools and has a synergy with activity in the outdoors. The imagery shows styalised lakes and hills which was considered important in adventure and in the development of students.

The rationale of ALS is reinforced by a quote from Mark Twain

'Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.'

We have attempted to echo the adventure ethos of the ALS executive director Professor David Hopkins who is Professor Emeritus at the Institute of Education, University of London.

Susequently we have aslo designed an A4 prospectus for ALS and an ALS web site which is content managed by the organisation themselves.
